What's New This Year!
Changes to this year's symposium include moving the student poster session to Wednesday evening, June 1, along with a beer and pizza reception. The reception will be held at the Old Dominion Ballroom in Squires Student Center.
This year the Thursday night party will be at The German Club. Shuttle service from the hotel to The German Club will be provided.
This year we are going green! We will not be printing programs or handing out CD's with the conference proceedings. Instead we will be including that information on a password protected webpage on the Wireless @ Virginia Tech website. The web page will be activated on June 1, 2016 and will include the poster abstract book. The conference proceedings/tutorial presentations will be uploaded after the symposium and will be available until June 30. Access to the conference proceedings/tutorial presentations are available to paid conference participants only. The web address and user name/password will be included in your symposium registration confirmation.
Also this year, Wireless @ Virginia Tech will be hosting the first annual Spectrum-ShaRC Student Cognitive Radio Contest. The first place prize is $5,000, second place is $3,000, and third place is $1,500. The contest will take place in the Cascades room, starting at 1:00 pm on June 1 - 2. Awards will be given out to the winners at the Thursday night party.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: IF you are presenting a tutorial at the 2016 Symposium, you will be required to sign a permission to publish form which is available here. YOU ALSO AGREE to submit a power point slide presentation of your tutorial to be published to the Wireless @ Virginia Tech website. This is a new requirement. Summary slides will need to be submitted via email to Joyce Donathan at email@example.com by May 1, 2016.
