New Textbook on Cognitive Radio Communication and Networks to be Available by Year End

Dr. HouThe textbook, Cognitive Radio Communication and Networks: Principles and Practice, will be available at the end of 2009. The authors are Alexandar Wyglinski, Maziar Nekovee, and Thomas Hou. This book gives comprehensive and balanced coverage of the principles of cognitive radio communications, cognitive networks, and details of their implementation, including the latest developments in the standards and spectrum policy. Case studies and descriptions of platforms and test beds, together with sample code, give hands on knowledge of how cognitive radio systems can be implemented. Extensive treatment is given to the IEEE standards 802.22 and the integration of cognitive radio into WIMAX through the 802.16h standard. The book gives communications engineers, R&D engineers, researchers, and graduate students a complete reference on the application of wireless communications and network theory to the design and implementation of cognitive radio systems and networks.
